10 ATTITUDES OF GLOBAL WALL BUILDERS (Part 1)

Walls serve as defence. They also represent dignity and glory.Mighty cities in those days had gigantic walls as the signature of their greatness. Fallen walls,on the other hand,are synonymous to reproach,indignity and shame.

Our societal walls today are fallen and the whole world sincerely desires wall builders to help rebuild the fallen walls in honour,service and dominion.Wall builders are indeed of great demand in our families,corporate institutions and government.

Today we share 10 great attitudes that will make you the wall builder of your generation.

•ATTITUDE1:CONCERN

The world is crowded with 'I' people.Persons that think of nothing else but themselves. Despite dwelling in faraway land,the man Nehemiah was filled with concern for Isreal and her fallen walls.What is your attitude towards the menace in your society?

•ATTITUDE 2:FORESIGHT 

One key reason for the gross embezzlement and corruption evident in our society is failure on the part of men to see beyond their nose.We must learn to think through carefully before we act.Today we blame our fathers for the socio-politico-economic situation we are currently going through but the question remains:With our current attitude,what is the hope of our children unborn?

•ATTITUDE 3:CLEAR DECISION 

Wall builders are definite in their approach. They know what they want and they go for it.I hear students and young graduates say,"I want to work in oil campany,Bank,etc".I always wonder,"What will you be doing in the oil company? What do you have to offer?" If we must be the wall builders our generation sought for,we must be definite.We decided that we will be a human capacity and community development organisation and we are on it.We have failed many times but we never quit!

•ATTITUDE 4:COURAGE

Wall builders are men of courage.In the words of Nehemiah,"And I said,Should such a man as I flee?And who is there,that,being as I am,would go into the temple to save his life?I will not go in"(Nehemiah6:11).Corruption,suicide,cultism and other social abnormalities are all birthed and groomed in cowardice. Go head on with those challenges and emerge a conqueror.

 •ATTITUDE 5: PRAYER

Except the Lord builds,they that build,build in vain.We have thrown away God in our social life and so we are overwhelmed by the crisis.There is a call to connect back to the spiritual.When mortality connects to divinity,success is indeed an assured reality.Jesus Christ is indeed the answer for the world today and beside him there is no other!(To be Contd.)

THE LEADER'S DIARY Thursday 13th October 2016 MAXIMISING THE GRACE FOR EXPLOIT "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploit."_ Daniel 11:32 Life is a total flop without exploit. Knowing God enables us to be strong but that is not enough. There is also the human part of DOING exploit with our God given strength.The essence of divine enablement is so we can do exploit! Exploit begins with taking up the responsibility of impacting our world. Unfortunately,folks go to church,dance and shout "hallelujah!" and when they come out to meet the whole world waiting for their manifestation,they just act as though God gave them nothing for their generation while they met with Him in worship. Are you one of those denying your generation of God's strength(potentials) in you? A great exploit must have 3 cardinal impact: 1. Meeting the expectation of those before us; 2. Affecting the lives of those with us; and 3. Leaving a legacy for those after us to follow. Is your life achieving these three cardinal goals? GREAT LEADERS ARE GREAT READERS

Great men are not made by anointing but by books.As Francis Bacon rightly said,"Reading maketh a full man;speaking a ready man;writing an exact man." Harold J. Ockenga,who took a suitcase full of books on his honeymoon,had this to say,"Read to refill the wells of inspiration".As extreme as his case may be,the importance of reading can't be overemphasised.

Brother Paul,with all his anointing,still requested for his books and parchments(2Timothy4:13). John Wesley had a great passion for reading and most of it was done on horseback.He rode sometimes ninety and often fifty miles a day! No wonder he was a great transformer.Do you know that Dr. Myles Munroe used to read not less than 24 leadership books in a year?

With all the audio and visual literatures,we have no excuse.If we must become agents of global transformation,the love and desire for knowledge must be a lifestyle.

OPTIMISM

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him:for he that cometh to God must believe that He is,and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him" _Hebrew 11:6
Optimism is all about seeing the positive side of every thing.Optimistic men are men that believe in all possibility.It takes only a believing heart to transform our lives,others and the world at large.
A failure is not one that tried and failed but he that tried,failed and refused to try again.However the King of all failures is he that always ask,"What if it doesn't work?" but never attempts to ask,"What if it works?".
God's kingdom can only be accessed,operated and dominated by optimistic people.If I am asked to suggest the eleventh commandment,it will definitely be: THOU SHALT NOT BE PESSIMISTIC.
The only limitation God has is our unbelief.Stop being a part-time believer,step up to the realm of ALL IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD!

GLORY, FOR HONOUR OR DISHONOUR?

"The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head" _Proverb 20: 29
If indeed the strength of the youth is her glory,then to what application is this glory?
Is the strength of our mind directed towards positive,constructive thinking for national development and generational transformation? Or are we basically thinking mischief? Nelson Mandela started the fight against apartheid as a youth. Rev. Martin Luther King Jnr led the match for equal treatment as a young clergy. Most of the discoveries we enjoy today are products of the strength of young men.On the other hand,the kidnapping, pipeline vandalism, scams, terrorism and ritual killings are also products of the strength of youthful minds.
What about the strength of your lips?Are your words building or pulling down?Are you quick to like and share posts that insult and damage the image of our great nation and leaders?Are you one of those always at newspaper stands cursing and declaring doom without proffering solution?
Are you among them that cry about the untidiness of our streets and yet are quick to drop polymer sachet by the roadside  after drinking its content?
In that little corner of yours,what role are you playing?Are you contributing or destroying?
In our strength lies the glory of our lives,families and nation;let's apply our strength to honour.
The decadence is indeed much but together, our strength(be it mental,physical or spiritual) can bring the lost glory!

Life can seem ungrateful and always unkind. It can pull at our heartstrings and play with our mind.It can also be blissful,happy and free.Life can place challenges right at our feet.It can make good of the hardships that we meet.Life can overwhelm us sometimes and make our head spin.It can reward us if we are  determined to win.Life can surround us with people who care and bring us both smiles and crowns.Life clearly does offer its ups and downs, teaching us to take the good with the bad.Life is a mixture of happy and sad.Oh!What will we do with life?
Here is it!We will take the life we have and give it our best.Think positive;be happy and let God do the rest.Take every challenge life lays at our feet;take comfort and be thankful for every one we overcome but give ourselves forgiveness if we stumble and fall.Take love that is given to us and return it with care,having faith that when needed,it will always be there.Take time to find the beauty in the things we see.Take life's simple pleasures and let them set our heart free.Whatever thing life brings our way,let's try and see God in it for indeed all is vanity but real is God and our fulfilment is in Him.

GET IT DONE!

"Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed." _ Joshua 13:1
Being quite knowledgeable in the intrigues of political economics, I quite sympathise with President Buhari (Nigerian President) considering the predicaments befalling oil dependent countries in the world. However, for every problem, there is atleast a solution and problem solving is the core essence of leadership. If there were no problems, there wouldn't be need for leaders.
So your key task as a leader is to fix the problems. If you can't fix it, then get out and let someone else do!
The same applies to our personal lives,we can give a million excuse but excuse is a product of failure!We can complain about the problems;who cares!Every fool can talk about a problem!
Don't celebrate where you are,strive for more so that it won't be said to you at old age, "there are yet many more lands to conquer".
Don't resign in failure or seek for sympathy. Life is to be celebrated and not pitied.Have you got a task of ten men given to you alone?Do complain yet,get it done first and then you can talk to the admiration of all!
You are created a problem solver but you need God by your side and His Spirit in your heart for without Christ, we can do nothing! Be a solution,stop the excuse and get it done!

DOMINION AND THE LAW OF ABSOLUTE DEPENDENCY

Every man that seeks dominion must keep to the laws of dominion. In  past series, we considered two of such laws:
-The Law of Total Abandonment
-The Law of Absolute Dependency
Every great man operates from a source and to sustain such greatness,there is a need for total dependence and reliance on the source. So we are only as successful as our source. That is why choosing the right source is very important. When our life is hung on men,then we will only go as far as men can go. But men that depend totally on God are limitless in exploit and unstoppable in dominion.
Total dependency on God involves following radical submissions:
*What are God can't do,let it remain undone!
*Whatever God can't give me,may I never have it!
*Wherever God can't take me, may I never get there!
God chasers are world changers. True dominion is God always and God only through Christ Jesus!

Our premier and original purpose of existence is not to worship God.No!Worship is a lifestyle,not an assignment. Neither were we created for merriment. No!Merriment is for relaxation,not a mission.
Our core essence of existence is to dominate our world.To impact our world with our God given potentials.You are too loaded and all that is deposited in you must be offloaded.
We have enough to give to our world on a daily basis that why we shouldn't let a day pass by without men feeling our impact.Because the benefits that God loads us with daily is for the benefit of our daily contacts.

A young man packing his bag for a journey said to his friend,"I have nearly finished packing.All I have to put in are a map,a lamp,a mirror, a microscope,a telescope, a volume of fine poetry,a few biographies, a package of old letters,a book of songs,a sword, a hammer and a set of tools". "But you can't put all that into your bag!", the friend objected. "Oh yes I can,here it is" said the young man as he placed his Bible in a corner of his bag and closed the lid.
Yes,the Bible is all that and more!All you need to breakthrough the rocks of life,see beyond the usual,navigate through and get to the top of your game in life is The Word of God.This Word is all you need to live,prosper and have a being.
In GLIFE Foundation, we are defying lack to impact our world and raise leaders.All that and more we are achieving just believing God's Word.Heavy financially demanding projects had been executed without having a dime because the Word is available.
When God sends His Word,He heals all infirmity and takes care of our limitations.

The truth about a product is hidden in the mind of the manufacturer and the manufacturer reveals his mind about his product in the product's manual.Every other views and opinions are mere guesses.Your Maker's manual says you are:
1.Fearfully made:this means that God was full of positive fear not to make a mistake while making you.So you are an error free,carefully packaged product.
 2.Wonderfully made: this means that you are full of wonder!Stop going about trying to be someone else.
 3.Marvelous:this means that when you show up,you make men marvel!
God has never produced a failure even though men fail.We fail because we don't read the manual(Bible) so we go about life experimenting.Regardless of what you have gone through in life,your experience can never cancel out your abilities and people's opinion about you won't change your potentials.All that matters is that God has said it and your soul knows it right! @GLIFEfoundation

ARE YOU SET FOR THE SET TIME?

Every man has his own set time.Many refer to such a time as opportunity. This is a time in the cycle of life when everything sets up in favour of the man.
However only prepared men can partake of the blessings of their set time. The greatest undoing of any man is arriving at his set time unprepared. Of Joseph,Psalms 105:17-22 records,"...Whose feet they hurt with fetters:he was laid in iron:Until the time that his word came: the Word of the LORD tried him..."
There is a set time prepared for us in the month of August.Let it not meet us unprepared.

It takes only a crushed grape to get the blood-red wine.Men that delivered in their generation were not men that studied much but men that suffered much yet persisted.Behind every glory there is a story well told.
If you are a child of God,then are you the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).  So when you are pushed to the darkest corner of life,rejoice for there shall your true radiance show forth. No man fully appreciates light until there is gross darkness.

MY WORTH
 "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."_Matthew 5:13
Our worth is not in our possessions but in our contributions.It is not in our message but in our impact.Good words not matched with good works have no worth and no product can give out its true worth without working in line with the manufacturer's manual. If we are created by God then are we really operating in God's manual for our life?
I am the salt of the world and not the salt of the church and it is what I add, and not what I have, that defines my worth.I don't know about you!

Loneliness: The Cost Of Leadership

"Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me."_ John 16:32

 The human nature always craves for company, and it is only natural to wish to share with others the heavy burdens of responsibility and care. But as good as this may seem, it is not always the case in leadership.
Leading in life requires one being ahead of others and that can be a very lonely path. Moses, Esther, Joseph, Enoch, Noah and all men that had made great impact had their fair share of lonely moments. Paul so felt the heat that he wrote to Timothy, "This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me..."_2Timothy 1:15
However, in this lonely path of leadership, there is an assurance of the availability of a great companion, God our Father- the very present help in time of need. As J. Oswald Sanders rightly mentioned, "The leader must be a man who, while welcoming the friendship and support of all who can offer it, has sufficient inner resources to stand alone, even in the face of fierce opposition, in the discharge of his responsibilities, he must be prepared to have no one but God.
The path to greatness and relevance might be lonely but with God, the man on that path is not alone. Do you have Christ in you? Then you are not alone.

Positive Dissatisfaction

"That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains." _2 Samuel 7:2
The word 'dissatisfaction' is most times associated with negativity but the truth remains that nothing good emanates without a degree of positive dissatisfaction that prompts a move towards a new level.To be satisfied with the existing status quo is to be dead in the land of the living.
David,who is referred to as the king is that opening verse happens to have been a king, prophet, warrior, captain, instrumentalist and a successful songwriter yet he still hungered for more!
No matter we have done for God and humanity, as long as there is breath flowing through our nostrils, we are still on course to do greater things and together with the help of God,we can!If you are reading the devotional, then it is an evidence that you can do more so be positively dissatisfied.

Maintain Your Position,Mind Your Business

You may ask,"How do I know my place in life?" It is very simple-it is that thing that you do with so much joy,whether paid or not, that adds value to the life of others. Find it, package it, place value on it and stay on it!

Finally mind your business. I define business as an abbreviation of 'being BUSY doing the NECESSARY'. Many people are in one thing yet their eyes are on another. The only reason why crime is on the rise in Nigeria is that the police are in their duty post but have their eyes on the N50 in the hands of the public transporters. The only reason Nigeria is where it is today is because the government has insisted on making us a mono-economy nation rather than a nation blessed with diverse resources. This they have done by spending so much resources traveling and forming alliances to stabilise the price of crude oil instead of staying home to focus on diversifying the economy.

But I see a great generation of transformers emerging,a mighty army that will maintain their place and will not break their ranks. I am a  part of that generation.Are you?

Good Decision Making, Beyond Human Rationality

Recently I had to do some proofreading for someone and I promised to deliver it that day which happened to be an evening church service day. By the time I ought to be going for the church service, I had barely finished the proofreading so I 'rationally' thought that I could just buy off some church service time so as to ensure that I completed the proofreading: a decision that my spirit didn't buy to. By the time I was done, church service was over and I felted very angry and unrest with myself. but the matter became worst when all of a sudden rain began to fall and I was caught between going back home, which was closer and delivering the proofread work. Either way, I was going to be beaten by the rain! Just then I fully realised my folly because had it been I went for the service, I would not be beaten by the rain and would still have completed the proofreading while waiting for the rain to subside. Well, it was already an analysis too late as I ran helplessly under the heavy storm  with no shelter nearby to protect me and no vehicle willing to stop to my rescue. All I prayed was, "Lord, forgive me my trespasses and have mercy on me!" and God indeed  had mercy because I had in the bag with me a laptop, a mobile phone and all my original certificates(both academic and business) among other documents but none was destroyed by the storm that lasted lasted for more than an hour. Glory to God!

Here is the lesson: regardless of how rational we may be as mortals, we really can't know all but there is God's Spirit(The Holy Spirit) that bears witness with our spirit as believers. He is called the Spirit of Truth because He knows and can reveal all truth. But it is left to us to either follow the leading of the Spirit or our own human faculty. But let it be known that the human spirit is fallible but the Holy Spirit is infallible. You too can have Holy Spirit in you. All it takes is believing, accepting and confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
